MEET 'N GREET
Kialani Hines started riding bikes with a bribe from her mom. She would go to the BMX track with her family to watch her brother but never had the desire to try it. She was very much content with watching her brother have all the fun. One particular day her mom decided to pull out the secret trick and said “if you race today, I’ll get you a McDonalds happy meal”. Now, 15 years later, she’s still cruising on two wheels and one of the fastest racers in the world.
Most Memorable / Meaningful Place I’ve Visited
Yosemite was truly a beautiful sight to see. Everything was so much bigger and greater than I could have imagined. I can’t wait to make it back there with my bike.
Pro Tip
I don’t necessarily have a hack BUT I can say if you want to make sure you keep yourself in a good space when going on road trips, Have good music and yummy snacks!

What would your TED talk be about?
Probably about how to balance riding and being able to step away from the bike. I love my bike but I’ve never been one to struggle with being away from it. It’s nice to have this balance because you don’t become over consumed and dependent on it.
What would you be doing in an alternate life or timeline?
A Hawaiian Surfer girl! I can maybe still make that happen one of these days but for now, I’ll keep dreaming!
How do you like giving back? What's the cause you're passionate about or favorite non-profit/organization?
I enjoy supporting younger riders coming into the sport. I think we are starting to see the value in the upcoming generation of riders. They truly are the future of the sport and it’s empowering to watch. An organization that is helping to get more kids on bikes in AllKidsRide! Love what they are doing.
What's your guilty pleasure/indulgence?
Sweets. I have a really sweet tooth one of my favorite snacks especially at events is Oreos.
If you could switch bodies with one person for a day, who would it be? Why?
Not a human but my dog Milo. I would love to shred the trail from his perspective and see life through the eyes of our most loved companion.
How does using Yakima products make your life easier, or what do you most like about it?
I love having my HangOver 6 on my car, keeping me ready to hit the road with my bike at any time. Yakima has made their products easy to use and also look great!
