MEET 'N GREET

I have been a photographer for 17 years. Most of the time I travel and document the indigenous peoples, which allows me to discover wonderful places and people. I value my freedom; routine is something I cannot live with. I always need to be in movement, looking for new things that fill my life, adventures, and stories.

Favorite Place in the Wild
Baja, California

Pro Tip
I like to use the SkyRise and RocketBox Pro 11 on my travels.

Fast Talkin'

WHAT’S A FEATURE YOU APPRECIATE ABOUT YAKIMA PRODUCTS THAT MAKES LIFE EASIER FOR YOU?

Having a home on top of my Jeep. And that´s what my SkyRise has become for several years. Having the peace of mind of being able to rest after a long day of driving, or knowing that with rain or cold, I will be well protected, makes my trips more comfortable.

YOU HAVE ONE WISH…WHAT WOULD YOU WISH TO MAKE IT EASIER TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE?

I wish my Jeep never ran out of gas, especially in California. I travel more than half of the year on roads, so having an eternal supply of gas would be a great advantage.

HOW DO YOU HAVE FUN, KICK BACK, RELAX, AND “TAKE IT EASY”?

Camping with Fraile, my chocolate Labrador. Losing ourselves in the middle of nowhere and watching him run and jump makes me happy.

If you could stand in someone else's shoes...

Edward S. Curtis. He was the pioneer of the documentation of Native American peoples in the late 1800s. I would like to have seen that wild world just before it disappeared.

What would your ted talk be about?

Diversity

Guilty Pleasure / Indulgence?

Chocolate cake

What would you be doing in an alternate life?

Possibly I would be a muralist painter.

How do you give back?

I try to directly support the indigenous peoples by teaching them photography so that they themselves can document their tradition.

When there is nothing left to burn, you have to set yourself on fire.
